The Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) is the publisher of the “Hydrological data and forecasts” Web site. This portal provides current and past hydrological data on rivers, lakes and groundwater in Switzerland as well as forecasts and flood warnings.

 

Published data

Current and past monitoring data are published on the portal.

Current monitoring data (latest measurements and charts) are transmitted directly from the FOEN’s hydrometric stations. The data are raw and not verified prior to publication. For that reason, they may contain errors. Raw data and forecast values are each published in local time (summer / winter time).

Past data have been subjected to a plausibility check and corrected, where necessary. They are published in winter time.

The FOEN strives to publish correct data. However, it cannot be held liable for incorrect data. For more information, see the “Terms and conditions”:
